Electrical Panel & 200A Service Upgrades
Old panel, tripping breakers, or planning an EV charger, heat pump or renovation? We replace panels and upgrade services across Kitchener-Waterloo — permits, utility coordination and inspection included.

Signs your panel needs attention
Many homes in the region still run on 60A or 100A services that were never designed for today's loads. Adding an EV charger, heat pump, hot tub or finished basement can push an older panel past what it can safely handle.
A panel upgrade replaces the heart of your electrical system with modern breakers and room to grow. A service upgrade goes further, increasing the power coming into your home — usually to 200A — and involves coordinating a disconnect and reconnect with your local utility. We manage all of it.
Common reasons to upgrade
- Breakers that trip often or feel warm
- Fuse panels or obsolete / recalled panel brands
- No room for new circuits
- Adding an EV charger, heat pump, hot tub or range
- Insurance or home-inspection requirements
- Planning a renovation or basement finish
Simple, upfront, permitted.

Common questions
How long does a panel upgrade take?
Most residential panel upgrades are completed in 4–8 hours. Your power will be off for part of that time; we let you know the schedule in advance.
Do I need a 200A service?
Not always. Many homes do fine with a new 100A panel or a load-management device. We do a load calculation and give you honest options.
Who deals with the hydro company?
We do. We coordinate the disconnect and reconnect with your local utility and handle the ESA permit and inspection.
Can you install a sub-panel instead?
Yes — a sub-panel is a good fit for garages, basements and additions when your main service has enough capacity.
